Resource Services is a retail services group with over 200 staff, they recently retaind the services of Prosperity Partners to provide Superannuation support and financial services to their staff located around Australia.
Resource Services have been an excellent company to work with as they are very proactive and committed in providing any possible assistance to their staff on a range of financial and personal matters, readily make time available to allow staff to attend seminars and “one on one” appointments in order to arange the best outcome for their respective financial affairs .This support ensures that their staff are able to receive appropriate information and therefore can make informed decisions relating to their overall financial security , something very few employers take the time or money to do, especially with the size of the company, individual employees can be quickly lost or forgotten in the system.
Part of our commitment and the very reason we were recommended and retained by Resource Services is to provide ongoing seminars of an educational nature to their employees and be of assistance where possible to ensure they understand what superanuation and Insurance are and how it affects them personally, more importantly the education assists them to be more financially literate and become more actively involved in this vital part of their financial planning.
On a visit to one of their interstate offices, we conducted a seminar covering a range of topics, including the importance of life and Total and permanent disability insurance. The members were able to include this within their corporate super plan and increase it where appropriate. Following our presentation an individual member decided to increase his sum insured. A short while after , the increase was in place, the member concerned was injured in a car accident and was left totally and permanently disabled. He is a young family man with a young family and significant financial obligations to meet on behalf of his family.
We assisted the member with his aplication to claim on the cover and worked closely with the Insurance company involved, the final outcome meant that he client was able to afford excellent medical assistance and the family are well financially supported, leaving them to move onto the next stage of focussing on a slow and painful recovery properly.
The insurance payout gave stability to the member and his family which allowed for an orderly transition to significant lifestyle changes. The importance of insurance is generally overlooked however this story reminds us all that despite our age, health and occupation anyone can suffer a medical condition or experience an accident that forever changes their personal circumstances, it only takes a few seconds.
As the financial advisors to Resource Services and many other corporate clients it is comforting to know that we can make a difference to people’s lives forever and the premiums are very affordable to provide a payment to the Family when tragedy strikes. The experience left all of us in the team with a timely reminder to ensure that clients have adequate insurance cover to protect themselves and loved ones, even when it appears that their lifestyle and health doesnt currently expose them to any major problems.
